Rabanne Remixed: A Cult Disco Classic Reborn for a New Gen
In the ‘80s, Rabanne was synonymous with nightlife — glittering silhouettes, bold energy, and a soundtrack full of funk, disco, and Afrobeats. That legacy gets a fresh spin with the re-release of Judy Carter’s 1983 cult track “Listen to the Music.”
Remastered at the iconic Miraval Studios with producer Damien Quintard, the song keeps its velvet vocals and Latin jazz groove, but hits with new warmth and clarity. To celebrate, Rabanne has launched the #RabanneRemix challenge: an open call for artists to reimagine the track for today’s dance floors. The winner gets a residency at Miraval this October — sharing space with the echoes of Pink Floyd, Sade, and Kendrick Lamar.
It’s a campaign, yes — but also a nod to Rabanne’s roots, when fashion and music moved as one. Back then, Centre 57 was more than a showroom; it was a cultural hub, alive with sound and style. The remix brings that spirit forward — playful, collaborative, and made to move.
