UNDER HER SPELL – Freak Slug
Xenya - aka Freak Slug - embodies everything we wanted Issue 6 to be about. From her relationship with spirituality and authentic self awareness, to her gratitude, confidence and trust in the universe, Xenya is very much the essence of someone who is both within and without. She is also light, joyful, silly, playful and incredibly open. Her resonant Mancunian accent is delicious, her mood is infectious, her laugh is so good it makes you perform for her, hopeful she'll laugh at you again. When we spoke, Xenya and I talked at length (we went over our allotted time and got told to wind it up, for context) about everything from nail biting to star signs, past lives to Cher.
