GET TO KNOW: Elliot

Get to know Elliot, the Copenhagen songwriter turning emotional self-sabotage into dreamy indie-pop. Fresh off hot but depressive, he lets us into the essentials: Illuminati lore, Notes app dependency, strong opinions on meaningful lyrics, and a lifelong commitment to homemade pizza.

what is your favourite conspiracy theory?

the illuminati (i know… very original). but it’s just so intriguing to me and always has been. i remember being 12 years old, seeing all the pop stars do that diamond-shaped hand gesture (the rock diamond), and then totally spiral out reading all the conspiracy theories online.

what is your go-to karaoke song?

one of my own songs? hahahha – if not, then “don’t speak” by no doubt.

who are you booking for a dream festival line-up?

elliott smith, lorde, clario, sufjan stevens, beach house, the nationals, phoebe bridgers, khruangbin and lana del rey, karoline funder, searow, blood orange, caroline polachek (i’m such a sucker for indie-music, if you couldn’t tell by this line-up haha).

what is your favourite compliment you've ever received?

that i have nice teeth haha, i’ve had braces for over two years (and that shit was so painful and so expensive).

what is the last thing you Googled?

“milky toners, what do they do?”. i’m on skincare-tiktok, what else can i say.

what’s your favourite “third space”?

tranquebar a bookshop in copenhagen. i love it there.

what is your prized possession?

my phone (unfortunately…i think i need to rebel against technology; it’s starting to scare me), but especially my notes app. my every thought is written down there — i’d love to say my journal, but I get so annoyed with journaling ’cause my handwriting is absolute ass.

what’s the worst piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

that lyrics aren’t meant to be personal and meaningful. like what the fuck do you mean? lyrics are my favorite thing and i love when they get complicated, cryptic and messy.

what’s your go to comfort meal?

homemade pizza — I make it every friday. it’s a family tradition and has been so for the like past 15 years.

what are 7 things you find heavenly?

1. bathtubs

2. scented candles

3. music

4. myself (hahahaa)

5. a good cap, i wear one almost daily – so whenever i find a new cap, it’s the BEST

6. nature. kinda unappreciated really

7. my family and my close friends
